Department of Nursing started education in 1998-1999 academic years with a purpose of giving bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Our department prepares nursing students for the future at university level under an educational program rather than an apprenticeship program.
The department of nursing accepts male and female students. Every year, an average of 100 new students is registered to this department. The nursing program is a four-year course of study from admission to graduation. For a bachelor’s degree, students are required to accumulate 196 local (240 ECTS) credits. Students are also required to complete the clinical nursing for 32 hours in a week during their 7th and 8th semesters.
Department of Nursing is a department of scholars with a common goal: better health care for all people.
Computer Facilities
The underground basement floor is where students learn computer skills relevant to nursing. There are large computer classroom where students can work on papers or access the Internet. Students are taught in a new state of the art computer classroom and are instructed on the use of the computer and a variety of software applications.
Practice Labs
The Nursing practice labs provide students with an opportunity to gain experience and confidence in performing a wide variety of nursing technologies. Practice using actual hospital equipment is an integral part of the laboratory experience and patient simulators are provided to facilitate clinical skills mastery. Students receive individual instruction and guidance in key nursing Technologies including vital signs, medication administration, intravenous therapy and sterile techniques.
Research Labs
Groundbreaking research is the hallmark of any quality department of nursing. The School’s Research Laboratory, housed on the second level of the building, is dedicated to nursing research projects that incorporate basic biologic science methods. The laboratory consists of a dark room, microscopy facilities, vivarium, utility area (autoclave and water purification facility) etc.
